The Party of the Working Class no more

Also, where you at, Classic Liberals?

As much as I loathe beginning any kind of article with the words, “Remember when,” that is exactly what I’m going to do now.

Remember when Republicans were billed as the “Party of the Rich” and Democrats were the “Party of the Working Class.” I sure do. I also remember Lawn Darts, Tiger Beat magazine and Norman Lear sitcoms.

The guy in the striped tank is Keith Partridge. This is sacred ground, people.

But the Party of the Working Class? Yeah, I don’t think that holds water anymore.

From the elite media, to elite universities, to elite Hollywood, to elite CEO’s, the party of the donkey has become the party of the cultural elites. So much so, that they need to to do away with the donkey and replace it with that of a yacht, private plane, and limo.

The voice of the traditional Classic Liberal is gone. Hunted to extinction by members of their own party. In fact, if you are a Classic Liberal (a philosophy I happen to agree with) you are now considered <gasp> Conservative by the Progressives who have hijacked the Democrat party. Most of those sane middle ground Democrats no longer answer to the people; they only answer to the Far Left, which, I guess, doesn’t qualify them as “sane middle ground Democrats” after all. My bad.

The Right has moved Left and the Left has moved Progressive, which is kind of a fancy word for Socialism. It sounds better, I’ll give you that.

And the hypocrisy, while limited to no ONE party, is rather astounding considering the current state of our country:

Democrat Elites crying out for the defunding of the police while surrounded by private security in their gated communities.

Democrat Elites “forgiving” college loans, affecting predominately wealthy white kids (and before you counter with “What about tax breaks for the wealthy,” allow me to remind you that one can be irritated at both at the same time. Step down, Karen.)

Democrat Elites redistributing wealth while keeping all of theirs. The OTHER millionaire are bad.

Democrat Elites passing a $6 trillion Green New Deal and then hopping on their gas guzzling privates jet for a holiday at a private 5-star retreat. Or to accept an award in person in ICELAND, a la John Kerry. Remind me what role Kerry has in this administration? Oh, that’s right: Climate Czar. I wonder which of his houses he flew to upon his return.

Democrat Elites changing the definition of words, including “woman” “recession” and “border crisis.”

Democrat Elites passing an “Inflation Reduction Act” which is really a massive Climate and Tax Bill.

Democrat Elites in California banning the sale of all gasoline cars by 2035. Can’t afford to put gas in your car, much less a new electric car. Too bad. It’s the modern day version of, “Let them eat cake.”

All the while Americans are paying close to $500 more a month just to live thanks to crippling inflation currently at a 40 year high. Many families are going without just to put gas in their car and heat their homes.

I mean, so many things wrong it’s almost like it’s being done on purpose or something.

But, thankfully, it’s not gone unnoticed. According to a recent NBC poll, nearly 75% of Americans think the US is headed in the wrong direction under the current administration. The economy is their biggest concern and they worry that if we stay on this path, the country’s best years will be in the past.

Dear Baby Jesus in a manger… where you at, Classic Liberals? Come on. Your party, nay, the entire country needs you. Stand up. Speak out. Bring some sanity back to the party. You have a voice—USE IT.

In the meantime, I suspect the GOP door is wide open if you’d like to go in.
