<The following quote should be read in a slow, slurred voice. Imagine if you combined 4 Benadryls and 3 shots of tequila. Got it? Good. Go!>
“Our democracy is under attack. We need to fight for it. I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years. I used to teach political theory.” President Joe Biden, speaking at Prince George Community College in Maryland, Sept. 14, 2023
Impressive, right? Totally. Right up until the moment you fact check and realize he didn’t “teach” at the University of Pennsylvania.
For two years while serving as VP, Biden was granted the title of Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor. He gave some public appearances, a few Q&A’s with Penn’s president, panel discussions, a talk about his own book, addressed a Wharton Class and a few other appearances for which he was paid a whopping $900,000.
The school wasn’t paying for a professor; they were paying for the “prestige” of having a US Vice President on board.
Institutions of higher learning are farming out a lot of money for this sort of nonsense at the same time students are acquiring massive debt just to get a degree.
All thanks to over inflated university costs.
Now, this President gets no pushback from the media ever for these and other wildly false personal claims, like how he was arrested during a civil rights protest, how he used to drive an 18-wheeler, that he visited Iraq and Afghanistan as President, how his grandfather died a few days before his own birth at the same hospital (his grandfather died a year prior) how he witnessed the collapse of a bridge in Pittsburgh last year (he made this claim three times in a single speech) and repeating for perpetuity a heartwarming story about a “conversation with an Amtrak conductor” who was dead at the time the story would have taken place.
And let’s not forget the story of the small kitchen fire years ago that in the retelling has grown into his own personal Lahaina.
And if nobody is going to call him out on that, I think I'm missing out on an opportunity.
So, in the spirit of “Professor Biden,” allow me to share with you that I am a Rhodes Scholar who not only has a PhD in Astrophyics, but on my wall are 3 Gold medals won in the Olympics. I can sell you the secret to making a million dollars your first year in business, ANY business, and my home has been featured on the cover of Architectural Digest, a publication I ran while also serving as editor-in-chief of Vogue.
Oh, and I invented the digital camera.
at 70++ years am tearfully saddened by what is happening to our beautiful America. Am praying for the return of sanity or Christ one or the other or both. t.
