Donald Trump had a rally in Dayton, Ohio during which he said that if not elected, the country would be in for a "bloodbath." Now, if you listen to the speech and not just the soundbites, you understand that it was in reference to the impact of a second Biden term on the auto industry and economy as a whole.
Well, the media had a field day with this. The NYT called it "caustic and discursive." Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer said it was Trump "doubling down on his threats of political violence." The lovely ladies of The View had a wonderful time taking it out of context while assuring us they were not taking it out of context.
I mean the word “bloodbath” is surely extreme and divisive and no one in the field of professional journalism would EVER us the word while discussing political or social events right…RIGHT?
Selective outrage at its finest.
